The foreign trade department handles the following files:

• The Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) agreement
• Association agreement with the EU (Lebanon-EU association agreement)
• Free trade agreement with the European free trade association (EFTA)
• committee for trade cooperation among the member states of the organization of Islamic cooperation
• Bilateral free trade area agreements with:

1. The United Arab Emirates
2. Syria
3. Iraq
4. Kuwait
5. Egypt

• Bilateral framework agreements
• Chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in Lebanon
• Import and export licenses

The foreign trade department shall assume the functions of control over the chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in Lebanon in accordance with legislative decree no. 36 dated 5/8/1967
