In this regard, Salam first expressed his thanks to the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Government and the Qatari people for their hospitality and welcoming of the Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with Central Asian Countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan…
During the meeting, they discussed the meetings’ outcomes of the Committee of Five on Lebanon; especially that Qatar plays a crucial role and constitutes the active dynamo in the Committee. They also reviewed ways of supporting and facilitating its works to come up with positive results that bring comfort to Lebanon and restore its political cycle to its usual regularity with the blessing of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani anf the Arab brothers.
Moreover, Salam thanked the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar for the moral support for Lebanon through facilitating the visit of the Qatari people to Lebanon and enjoying their stay as well as supporting the Qatari investors to invest in several lebanese sectors; showing the strong belief of the Qatari people in Lebanon’ capacity to overcome its crisis thanks to the Lebanese’ skills and creativity.
In addition, both parties discussed the latest developments in the Middle East as well as means of appeasement and de-escalation; namely putting an end to the Zionist aggression on Gaza strip and the continuing aggression against Lebanon and the persistent air violations and attacks; given the role of the State of Qatar in this regard as an active supporter, especially that the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs handles, in person and from his office, the negotiations in order to solve the Palestinian cause and stop the Israeli aggression.
Furthermore, they touched on the 33rd Arab League Summit Conference that it will be hosted on the 16th of this month in the Bahrain capital, Manama where the attention of the Arab world will focus on the decisions that will come out of the Arab Leaders meeting under these tensed situations.
To this end, Salam and the Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed, reaffirmed the solid relationship between Lebanon and Qatar, stressing on the latter’s role in enhancing the regional security and stability in addition to its permanent success in drawing good outcomes in terms of the files that it undertook to assume.
Finally, the meeting was ended by assuring that Qatar vision to make peace in the region starts from peace building in Palestine and Lebanon.
