Salam discussed reforms with Duquenses:  The international community is supporting Lebanon and embarking on needed reforms is inevitable  
The Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, received in his office yesterday evening, for an hour and a half, the International Aid Coordinator for Lebanon, Ambassador Pierre Duquenses, in the presence of the accompanying delegation.
Discussions tackled the status of the reforms that Lebanon is working on, particularly the competition law where Salam confirmed that the process of its approval is in its final stages. The progress at the level of cleaning the grain silos at the Port of Beirut was also discussed.
Salam presented the results of his visit to Geneva and the meetings he held, especially with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, where Lebanon’s accession to the organization was discussed in depth along with the possibility of including the accession file within the milestones of the program with the IMF.
Moreover, Salam discussed the outcomes of the meetings he held in Washington with senior officials from the World Bank, the IMF and the US Congress.
Salam affirmed that he sensed the international community’s continuous support to Lebanon stressing on the importance of expediting the implementation of needed reforms.
