The Minister Mansour Bteish met this afternoon the Director-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations
Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Bteish met this afternoon with Director-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson accompanied by the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Christina Lassen in the presence of a delegation of experts.
Minister Bteish discussed with his visitors the current economic situation in Lebanon and the need to undertake reforms to address the financial and trade deficit as well as to undertake administrative reforms. In addition, Minister Bteish explained the actions taken by the lebanese government such as adopting the electricity plan and undertaking ongoing discussions on the general budget regarding the reform items.
Discussions also tackled the issue of digital economy and its importance in enlarging the economy; developing the productive sectors and creating job opportunities for the lebanese youth.
On its turn, the European delegation stressed the importance of the joint cooperation and expressed its willingness to assist Lebanon in achieving the decisions of CEDAR conference through permanent and open dialogue.
