The Lebanese Minister of Economy met in the Qatari capital the Chairman of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Lebanese Minister of Economy, Amin Salam, met in the Qatari capital; Doha, the Chairman of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and number of Qatari businessmen as well as members of the board of directors in continuation of their previous meeting that took place in October 2023.
In this regard, Salam and Al-Thani discussed aspects of cooperation between both countries. Minister Salam and Sheikh Khalifa emphasized the necessity to enhance and revive the Qatari committees to open new horizons for Lebanon as well as to help him recovering from its economic crisis.
Moreover, Salam stressed the strength of the Lebanese- Qatari ties led by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar.
He also stated that Lebanon works on elaborating a comprehensive modernization project that includes paths of political, economic and administrative updates; provided that the investment issue shall constitute a cornerstone in the economic modernization vision.
In addition, he called to build real and effective partnerships between the Qatari and Lebanese businessmen under the support of the Qatari leadership; to organize mutual visits as a prelude to incorporate profit-making ventures that serve the interests of the two brotherly people.
Furthermore, the Minister added that the highly skilled Lebanese people in Qatar are a matter of pride and best ambassador to the nation. On this occasion, he received praise from several Qatari officials, whereof these competencies contributed in supporting the production cycle and knowledge sharing; assuring his great appreciation to Qatar for its facilities offered for the entry of the high qualified Lebanese competencies.
On his turn, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani described the Lebanese Qatari relationship as being solid and durable ties on all levels, emphasizing the concern for developing them with the guidance of the leadership of the brotherly countries.
To end, he added that “the Qatari Chamber of Commerce is keen to build joint economic, trade and investment coalitions”.
