Support letter to Lebanon from the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
Salam receives a phone call from the Turkish Minister of Interior M. Ali Yerlikaya
Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam received today a phone call from the Turkish Minister of Interior M. Ali Yerlikaya, who presides over the Turkish-Lebanese joint economic committee from the Turkish side and headed by the Minister of Economy Amin Salam from the Lebanese side, during which he conveyed him a letter from the from the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressing the Turkish permanent support to the Lebanese government and people.
In this regard, Minister Ali Yerlikaya informed Minister Amin Salam about the letter’ content which Prime Minister Mikati was informed too, stating that Ankara will diligently seek, according to President Erdoğan’ directives to reach a cease fire agreement and to stand up to the Israeli massacres committed in the region, namely the terrorists and criminals aggressions against the Lebanese Government and people; especially that Turkey affirms its support to Lebanon’ sovereignty, its legitimates forces and its national army, stressing the Turkish discontent against the international community which remains silent regarding the Israeli machine of killing and destruction, the thing that enables Netanyahu’s government to expand terrorism and deadly assaults which also threatens to drag the whole region into the chaos and escalate the humanitarian crisis.
Moreover, the Turkish Minister of Interior affirmed to Minister Amin Salam that Turkey always stands beside the Lebanese people during these difficult circumstances and in light of these Israeli brutal attacks in terms of the humanitarian, relief and medical aid on all levels by sending till this date its planes and ships transporting hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid to relief the Lebanese people during this exigent circumstance.
The Turkish Minister also extended to Minister Salam his condolences for the martyrs and wished speedy recovery to the wounded.
In his turn, Minister Salam thanked Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya for his call and for the support letter of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as well as for his political, humanitarian, relief, health and medical initiatives for the Lebanese people; on the basis of the Turkish people’ chivalry emanating from their human decency in order to permanently support the Lebanese government and people.
Furthermore, Minister Salam affirmed to Minister Ali Yerlikaya that the Turkish support is an essential pillar for the Lebanese resilience against the attacks of the Israeli enemy . He also highlighted the Lebanese government holding to the roadmap that was previously announced consisting in reaching a ceasefire; the deployment of the Lebanese Army on all the Lebanese territories; the election of the President of the Republic and the implementation of both the international law and legitimacy.
At the end, both Ministers Salam and Yerlikaya underlined the importance of keeping the communication channels opened between Ankara and Beirut round-the-clock to keep informed about the latest updates and the means of providing support.
