Salam welcomes a senior delegation of the United Nations bodies
to discuss the current situations and to strengthen cooperation between Lebanon and international organizations
Minister of Economy and Trade, M. Amin Salam, welcomed an expanded delegation of the United Nations bodies, including M. Imran Riza, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon; Mrs. Sevrine Ray, the OCHA Head of Office in Lebanon; M. Abdallah Al Wardat, the Representative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Mrs. Noura Ouraba Haddad, the Representative for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in addition to M. Pierre Daher, Special Assistant of the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator.
To this end, discussions tackled the subject of the contingency plan developed by the Government to address the latest developments that may occur in addition to the coordination between the Ministry and the United Nations Organizations regarding efforts exerted on the service, humanitarian and social level; mainly in terms of the food security issue and the stability of the maritime navigation allowing the entry of essential substances to the country in case of any emergency circumstances.
In this regard, Salam expressed appreciation to their efforts in helping Lebanon during this critical period in addition to boosting the economic and social sustainability.
