Salam was informed from his Iraqi counterpart
receiving a donation of 200 thousand tons of wheat flour
Minister Amin Salam was informed tonight during a phone call from his counterpart, the Iraqi Minister of Trade, Mr. Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, about the latest updates in term of the Iraqi support as a follow up to their latest phone conversation made on October 9th (last week) whereof Minister Salam heard the good news stating that the Iraqi State approved today, through its Prime Minister Mr. Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani and the Iraqi Government, the sending of 200 thousand tons of wheat flour to the Lebanese people as a fast response in the context of the humanitarian support during these difficult circumstances.
In this regard, Minister Salam expressed, in the name of the Lebanese Government and people, heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani and the brother Iraqi people, through our dear friend, Minister Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, for this Iraqi donation that will meet Lebanon’ needs for eight months approximately; the thing that will relieve the Lebanese people in the short term and provide the living; which proves that Lebanon, under the protection of its Arab brothers, will definitely rise again beneath the Arabian shield, from the ocean to the gulf.
