Salam met a delegation of Ali Baba online shopping
and stressed the Lebanese distinction in digital economy
Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, welcomed in his office at the Ministry a delegation of the group AliBaba online shopping AliBaba.com
This meeting came as a result of the Ministry’s exceptional success in launching and supporting number of commercial sites between Lebanon, Asia and Europe in addition to the completion of the digitization of the Consumer Protection Directorate’ project and the hard work done to launch soon the plan of revitalizing the economy by relying on the lebanese distinction in the field of digital economy.
In this regard, Salam discussed with the delegation of AliBaba online shopping means of cooperation; to develop and invest in the Lebanese market; to meet it needs, namely in the field of e-commerce; to facilitate the purchase process; to find the desired product and the adequate shipping services; to assure safety and comfort while shopping via this site in addition to save time, effort and money. Moreover, both parties revealed the importance of cooperation with the Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry, the recourse to the order and the review of the purchase orders in the event the shipping company failed to do the same.
Both parties also touched on the special diversity of the payment methods while stressing on the cooperation with the Intellectual Property Department at the Ministry regarding the protection of trademarks.
To conclude, the attendees emphasized the importance of this meeting and its significance; especially that the world companies’ show interest in Lebanon, whereof AliBaba online shopping is one of them; to open the way to the Lebanese merchants to purchase their supplies; display their products on this diverse world site; facilitate the purchase and shipping process; and to receive the products via online shopping with competitive prices that serve the trade sector and benefit the State treasury.
