Salam meets in Washington the World Bank Group Executive Director
The periodic meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for 2024 took off today in Washington during which Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam will participate as part of the Lebanese delegation.
In this regard, the first meetings included a gathering between Minister Salam and the World Bank Group Executive Director for the Middle East, Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Mulla, whereof discussions tackled the Lebanese economic situation and the loans’ path granted to Lebanon by the World Bank as well as their positive impact in terms of contributing in reducing poverty and supporting the Lebanese who are most in need under the financial and economic crisis that Lebanon is still facing. Furthermore, Minister Salam discussed with Al Mulla a new project that supports the Lebanese economy through financing development economic sectors, in particular modern technology and renewable energy.
