Salam from Manama after meeting with the Bahraini Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs
Law is the strongest attractive force for investment
Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, held a meeting in Manama with the Bahraini Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Nawaf bin Mohamed Al-Mawadeh, on the margins of the 33rd Arab Summit meetings.
Minister Al-Mawadeh pointed out to the solid brotherly ties between the Bahraini and Lebanese peoples, stressing that Lebanon and its people are very precious, thus deserving our wholehearted support. Moreover, he proposed to Minister Salam to offer legal assistance and advice given the pioneer Bahraini experience in the region in terms of “the development of the judicial system and enforcement of sentences; cooperation with the private sector through private companies to implement these sentences; reliance on automated systems for money collection without any human intervention, based from the people trust in the judicial authority, where the effectiveness of justice and the speedy implementation of sentences; in such a way that achieve the principles of sustainability, fairness and competiveness upon which the Bahrain economic vision 2030 relied. This is an opportunity for Lebanon to benefit from our free experience to better serve our Lebanese brothers in cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Justice”.
Furthermore, Minister Al-Mawadeh revealed to Minister Salam the major executed development projects in addition to the latest initiatives in the Judicial field, such as those related to digital transformation, especially that the Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade had adopted this transformation with the efforts exerted by Minister Salam, being the first Lebanese Ministry adopt the digitization option.
On his turn, Minister Salam emphasized the importance of the relationship with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its brother people; as well as the necessity of cooperation to open the Bahraini and Gulf markets to the Lebanese products and restore Lebanon like before as an investment hub for the Bahraini and Gulf businessmen; especially that the goals and plans of the new Lebanon consist in performing judicial reform to gain the trust of the Lebanese, Arab and foreign investors.
He also stated: the law and judicial reform are the strongest attractive force for investment; given the fact that lawmen are the builders of safety and trust; while the financiers are the builders of civilization and investment; and both of them complete each other.
