Salam announces the receipt of 90 tons of humanitarian aid
Following up on our initiative consisting in sharing the suffering of the Lebanese people from the Israeli attacks with our Arabic and International friend states, by mobilizing the humanitarian support to ensure the unprecedented urgent needs to our people; we announce that a Middle East Airlines cargo plane will land at Beirut- Rafic Hariri International Airport on Thursday October 17th in the afternoon, loaded with 90 tons of humanitarian and relief aid to Lebanon coming from the Republic of Pakistan, upon instructions of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistani non-profit “Services” Association as well as based on our efforts exerted with the Pakistani Ambassador, our friend Selman Akhtar, in light of his following up on the urgent needs.
Therefore, based on the telegraph sent by the Pakistani Government n◦ Pol-2/16/2024 and Pol-2/15/2024, the cargo contains the following:
- 50 tons of medicines
- 15 tons of ready-made meals
- 9 tons of tents
- 5 tons of water proof (PVC) tissues
- 4 tons of blankets and cold weather sleeping supplies and bags
- 2 tons of winter clothes
- 5 tons of powdered milk
It is expected that the Pakistani Ambassador, Selman Akhtar and Minister Amin Salam or his representative will be present at the airport to receive the humanitarian aid.
