Salam after meeting ministers from Bahrain and United Arab of Emirates

A firm role for the Gulf Cooperation Council to support Lebanon

Minister of Economy and Trade, Mr. Amin Salam, held several meetings during his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he participated at the head of the Lebanese delegation in the Arab Summit.  To this end, he met Bahrain’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Zayani and Bahrain’s Minister of Finances, Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Furthermore, he met his Emirati peer, Dr. Abdullah Bin Touq in addition to the Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council, Mr. Jassim Mohamad Al Badawi. In this regard, Minister Salam stressed during his meetings on the importance of the firm historical role of the Gulf Cooperation Council’ Countries unchallenged in supporting Lebanon at all levels.

In addition, he added: Lebanon is proud of its Arab affiliation and is keen to keep the best relations with the Gulf countries that were and will remain the bond and support. He also thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain, at both leadership and kingdom levels, for its decision to resume the diplomatic representation at the ambassadors’ level with Lebanon in order to boost the brotherly relations between the two countries and people and to promote mutual respect.
