Minister of Economy & Trade Raed Khoury received Fady Gemayel, President of the Association of the Lebanese Industrialists accompanied with the Association’ Members whereof discussions tackled economic matters such as Mckinsey plan that pays particular attention to the productive sectors. In this regard, Minister Khoury reassured the delegation that “the industry sector will surely be part of the productive sectors’ promotion process”. On its turn, the delegation asked to support some of the available industries that may be productive once costs are addressed and reduced from 15% to 12% in order to be exported to European countries.

Furthermore, the Association’ president and members acclaimed the positions of Minister Khoury and his measures to prevent dumping and protect the national production. In this regard, Mr. Gemayel stated: “we insist that we should maintain excellent relations with other countries,  we want to live in harmony with everyone for we only care about protecting our markets by applying anti- dumping measures as well as protect our productive factories from being shutting down”. Moreover, he added: “we claim to enhance the anti-dumping measures by implementing duties on all imported goods from countries that cause dumping.”

At the end, Minister Raed Khoury tackled the issue of the smuggling activities and the illegal institutions that harm the lebanese economy in addition to enhance efforts for combating them.
