The Consumer Protection Directorate pursued its control tours in markets under the direction of Minister of Economy & Trade Amin Salam to make sure supermarkets abide by  the pricing mechanism and profits margins.

To this end, the Directorate’ inspectors addressed written warnings and recorded seizure minutes against a supermarket in Tripoli for violating the profit rates.

Furthermore, the inspectors pursued their tours and reached the electricity generators in the South and underlined two seizure records against their owners in Ghazieh and Najjarieh, respectively. They also followed up on the citizen’s complaints filed against the generators in the following villages: Marwanieh, Bazourieh, Burj El Shemali, Ain El Mir, Chawalik, Sarafand and Saida whereof they addressed warnings for the generators’ owners after settling all the complaints.

In this regard, the Ministry assures its stringency in terms of controlling violations and referring the violators before competent courts despite difficulties and challenges impeding the inspectors’ work.
