Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam, welcomed today in his office the Executive Director and Dean of the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank Group Dr. Merza Hasan where they asserted to move forward in executing current projects and discussed the need to develop new support projects, especially with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
This meeting comes as a follow-up to Minister Salam’s visit to Washington D.C. where he held meetings with representatives from both the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
These meetings tackled the general economic situation, potential infrastructure projects and the current World Bank projects in Lebanon.
To this end, Minister Salam assured that the World Bank is keen on supporting the country, noting that the Ministry of Economy and Trade is dedicated to bolster cooperation with the World Bank in order to achieve tangible results in the next year.
