Minister of Economy and Trade received a delegation of the Labor Union headed by Bechara Asmar
Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, received today at his office a delegation of the Labor Union headed by Bechara Asmar and discussions tackled the importance of cooperation within the frame of justice and equity to all with the coordination of the Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Minister of Labor, Mustapha Bayram, in order to achieve sustainable solutions helping to address severe challenges, especially in terms of the high cost of living. In this regard, Minister Salam declared that the meeting was constructive and of high importance, stressing that, “both as the Ministry, and me, we do believe that the economy only relies on human, thus labor forces are the main element to found the State , boost the economy and maintain the continuity. Salam added: “the Ministry’s doors are always open; we will keep in permanent touch with the Union and stakeholders for we are keen that everyone will be given his due, especially the Lebanese worker, whether in the private or public sectors. Dialogue is the only solution to all problems”, stressing that “we are witnessing a tough situation and cooperation is vital between all the competent administrations, including Ministries of Economy and Labor in addition to all concerned ministries and mainly, the government Asmar In his turn, Asmar assured that the stage we are witnessing is very difficult noting the importance of cooperating with the Ministry of Economy and Trade in order to enhance control, support silos, bread and the necessary goods for citizens. He also talked about monopolies and mafias that control the country and stressed on the importance of supporting the working class. In addition, he assured the cooperation with both Ministries of Economy and Labor in order to reach an agreement acceptable to all parties.
