Minister of Economy and Trade, Raed Khoury welcomed a delegation of the wheat farmers in the North in the presence of the Director General of Cereals And Sugar beets, Hanna El Amil. The delegation demanded that “the compensation agreed upon by the Council of Ministers should be paid to the wheat farmers for all the cultivated fields in the North instead of delivering the current crops given the serious damages inflicted before and after the harvest”.

Minister Khoury stressed that “the matter requires a new decision to be taken by the Council of Ministers in order to modify the previous one and the farmers need to submit a letter to the Ministry in this regard”.
