Minister Salam meets with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and discusses means of supporting Lebanese youth.
Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, proceeded with his meetings in Geneva. To that end, he met with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Daren Tang and discussed ways of supporting the digital sector in Lebanon, namely the possibility of investing in the capacities of the Lebanese youth in the fields of digital technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In this regard, both parties insisted on the necessity to develop and update the Lebanese Office of Intellectual Property and digitize all documents with the support of the donors; in addition to the importance of approving pending laws related to intellectual property and innovation. Moreover, they agreed to cooperate in the field of education and training on how to use the intellectual property in the interest of entrepreneurship, commercial negotiation and Lebanese diplomacy through the WIPO Academy having Geneva as the headquarters and providing remote learning techniques in addition to specialized training courses.
