Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Bteish welcomed a delegation from the Lebanese IT Syndicate
Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Bteish welcomed a delegation from the Lebanese IT Syndicate headed by the President Georges Khoueiry and discussed the campaign created by the syndicate aiming to protect the job opportunities in the information and technology sector as well as to give priority to the Lebanese when hiring employees. To this end, Minister Bteish appreciated the syndicate’ efforts made to preserve the adherents’ rights and to plan the future of this promising sector.
On its turn, the syndicate introduced the role of the Ministry of Economy and Trade and relevant departments in protecting the intellectual property, namely the production of softwares and technological products while showing its readiness for technical cooperation with the Ministry in terms of protecting the intellectual property, complying with the licenses acknowledged to the owners of technological products in addition to combatting smuggling.
Moreover, Minister Bteish emphasized the importance of cooperation with the syndicate for the interest of the consumer protection and the laws and regulations’ implementation. The Minister also urged the syndicate to plan awareness campaings stressing the need to use the appropriate technological products.
