Minister of Economy and Trade made a phone call with his Algerian peer

Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, made today a phone call with his Algerian peer, Tayeb Zitouni, to thank him for the continuous efforts exerted by the Democratic and Popular Algerian Republic to support and protect the Lebanese people and Government, before all international and regional instances, where needed.
Minister Salam started his phone call with the Algerian Minister by thanking the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his crucial decision to side with Lebanon and its government; he also thanked the Algerian people for their fast and permanent support to Lebanon on all levels stating the fuel donation, supporting the Lebanese Army, sending various relief aids in addition to the participation of medical and relief Algerian delegations to help the injured in the Lebanese hospitals as well as the contribution of the civil society and the Algerian associations in these efforts; in particular their relentless strive with the brotherly and friend Arab Countries to stop the Israeli hostilities against Lebanon, support the election of a President, form a new Lebanese government, reactivate all the constitutional institutions and provide all support to the Lebanese Army and the legitimate national forces.
Furthermore, Minister Salam and his Algerian peer M. Tayeb Zitouni discussed during the phone call the issue of completing the cooperation plans that were elaborated following their meeting on the margin of the 33rd Arab League Summit held in the Bahraini Capital, Manama during last May which mainly consist of partnership, economy, trade exchange between Lebanon and Algeria in terms of the private and public sectors as soon as possible, especially that the ceasefire agreement came into effect.
In his turn, Minister Zitouni confirmed to Minister Salam that one of the main President Tebboune’ projects consists in the cooperation with Lebanon on all levels, stating that President Tebboune and the Algerian Government attach great importance in terms of Arabism, on one hand; and in terms of the importance of strong ties between Lebanon and Algeria; the deep-rooted political relations through history in addition to importance of partnership, economy and trade exchange between the two countries, one the other hand stressing the importance of completing the cooperation plans that he and Minister Salam had elaborated following their meeting on the margin of the 33rd Arab League Summit held in the Bahraini Capital, Manama.
