Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, held today in the Qatari capital, Doha, a fruitful meeting with the Qatari Minister of Communications and Information Technology, M. Mohammed Bin Ali Bin Mohammed Al Mannai who showed quick readiness to cooperate with Lebanon,
In this regard, Minister Al Manaii gave his directives to his teamwork to directly cooperate and communicate with Minister Salam and whoever are concerned from both the public and private sector in Lebanon; especially that the Qatari Minister praised the lebanese youth experiences, skills and distinction, showing his concern for them for the above mentioned reasons; namely that most of the electronic applications in the Arab world and the Gulf countries should be in Arabic language, which is considered an incentive to have recourse to the Arab youth, in particular the Lebanese youth.
In his turn, Minister Salam underlined the importance of the Qatari role played in the region and the concern shown by Emir Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani for Lebanon on all levels, which is translated by the concern of the Qatari government regarding Lebanon’ situation under the supervision of the Prime Minister Sheikh Mohamad Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim Al Thani,
Moreover, Minister Salam asserted to the Qatari Minister that the most important industry in Lebanon today is technology and digitization as well as the telecommunications sector that generates revenues to the Lebanese’ government treasury,
In addition, Minister Salam assured that the Ministry of Economy is the first Ministry in Lebanon that has started its digital transformation step by step; adding that this is a big challenge for us.
Salam added that we hope to benefit from the experiences of the Qatari government, especially those gained in this field and its relevant services.
