Meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Jordanian-Lebanese Joint Higher Committee
Following an extended hiatus, the eighth session of the Preparatory Committee for the Jordanian-Lebanese Joint Higher Committee convened under the joint chairmanship of His Excellency Minister of Economy & Trade, Dr. Amer Bisat and His Excellency the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Engineer Yarab Al-Qudah; reflecting shared intentions to enhance cooperation and benefit from the available great potentials and opportunities; in preparation for signing of both Prime Ministers of 20 bilateral agreements, memorandum of understanding and cooperation protocol which comprise a joint coordination between more than 14 ministries.
The meetings of the Preparatory Committee comprised the Lebanese Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Brigitte Tawk; the Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon Waleed Al-Hadid; the Director General of Ministry of Economy and Trade, Dr. Mohamad Abou Haidar; the Secretary General of Jordan’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Al Zoubi; with the participation of several secretaries, general directors and the Jordanian participating delegation. The meeting was timely to confirm the close ties between Lebanon and Jordan as well as the importance of economic integration and the common ambition to increase the bilateral trade exchange volume. It also advocates for the implementation of the expected agreements, following the Technical Committee’ diligent work, thus moving from coordination to implementation and work.
