Following the ministerial committee meeting to follow up and prepare the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, Minister of Economy and Trade Raed Khoury stated that “the economy is the leading driving force of politics in the world. Therefore, we shall exert more efforts to improve the economic and social conditions.

To this end, we work under the umbrella of the Arab League hoping to complete this summit with practical steps showing fixed targets that can be achieved.

It is to mention that the deterioration of the situation in the Arab World had definitely led to the deterioration of the region’s economies; the thing that urges us to put aside the political differences and the economic issues.

We also stress on the necessity to set an action plan to follow up of the implementation of the summit’ resolutions, in particular those related to the digital economy keeping in pace with the societies development.
