A fruitful meeting between Salam and the Senior Presidential Adviser of President Trump

Following his efforts exerted to communicate with the decision makers in the US Capital, Washington D.C, namely in terms of Lebanon’ support, Minister Amin Salam held a meeting with  the Senior Presidential Adviser of President Trump on Arab Middle Eastern Affairs, the Lebanese American businessman Dr. Massad Boulos to discuss about the Lebanese - American cooperation on various Lebanese issues, namely achieving peace in the region based on the principle of respecting all the Middle Eastern countries to the laws  and international legitimacy; especially respecting Lebanon’ sovereignty over its air, land and wealth of all kinds as well as over total area of 10,452 square kilometers as internationally recognized.

Minister Amin Salam congratulated Dr. Massad Boulos for his fruitful efforts and his historical success in achieving the task he was entrusted with by President Donald Trump to communicate and round distances with the Arab communities in the U.S which was reflected by voting of the Arab community, in particular the Lebanese one, to President Trump and which also led to elaborating a written pledge signed by President Trump before the elections in order to achieve peace in the Middle East, namely in Lebanon, and exert efforts for its prosperity. In this regard, Minister Salam stated to Dr. Massad Boulos: I have previously worked in person and closely with  the White House and President Trump during his first mandate on the Middle East issue, in particular Lebanon. However, today there is a historic opportunity that will not be repeated, embodied in the fact that Lebanon and the Arab World have a strong, close and honest representative in the White House. For this reason, we must be responsible and aware to grab this opportunity”… It is to mention that on the announcement of the U.S. Presidential election victory of President Donald Trump, Minister Salam offered the latter a cut-out for the Cedars of the Lord tree that embellishes the Lebanese flag with a quote by Gibran Khalil Gibran who spent his live in Boston and New York, stating:

“If Lebanon was not my country, I would have chosen it to be” enclosed with a formal congratulation letter wishing him success in his term as well as good cooperation between the United States of America and the Republic of Lebanon.

On his turn, Dr. Massad Boulos thanked Minister Amin Salam for his visit and praised his national efforts, stating that President Donald Trump is totally committed to keep his promise to reach ceasefire. He also appreciates the cooperation of the Lebanese community and their courtesy as well as their patriotism toward their ancestors’ land, on one hand; and in terms of the Lebanese issues, on top of them the election of a President of Republic, on the other hand; whereof  Dr. Boulos affirmed, from what he heard from President Donald Trump, that this issue is an national responsibility and a pure internal and national matter that shall be achieved as soon as possible in addition to forming a new government that supports the new elected President having as a mission to rescue the country.

Moreover,  Dr. Massad Boulos affirmed to Minister Salam that President Trump is a patriotic figure and a successful businessman; stressing that achieving permanent peace in  the region is a must for this success, on condition that peace must be just and comprehensive with the need to elaborate an economic plan to accompany any solutions in the Palestinian cause, where the Palestinian economic recovery is influential for the continuance of peace, on one hand; as well as that President Donald Trump is interested, on the other hand, as revealed in his written pledge for the Lebanese community, in achieving peace; reaching ceasefire; ending fighting for good; achieving Lebanon’s prosperity and the well-being of Lebanese people in all fields based on the United States of America’ interest to forge closer cooperation and partnership with the Lebanese People and Government in terms of elaborating economic and development plans and programs; reconstruction; supporting legitimate forces; supplying the Lebanese Army with weapons; reactivating the work of the Constitutional institutions; supporting the bank, financial and economic sector; as well as supporting the future of the Lebanese people and providing job opportunities for youth through supporting the private and public sectors in addition to the small and medium enterprises. In addition, both Minister Salam and Boulos affirmed that communication channels are always opened between the U.S Administration and the Lebanese Government in the best interest for both friend people and countries.

At the end, Minister Salam concluded  his meeting with Dr. Massad Boulos by reminding him that the first miracles of Jesus took place in the village of Cana, in the South of Lebanon. In his turn, Dr. Boulos  highlighted that his first visit will be to Beirut in the nearest.
