The Ministry released an announcement concerning the prices of some goods sold throughout the Airport

The Ministry of Economy & Trade recently received complaints concerning the prices of some goods sold throughout Rafic Hariri International Airport, especially water and beverages. For this purpose, a team of the Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Trade undertook to follow up the issue in order to take the necessary procedures.
To this effect, the Consumer Protection Directorate at Ministry of Economy and Trade proceeds with its tasks to control the prices of goods pursuant to the Legislative Decree nº 73/83. Consequently, the Ministry undertakes to verify the cost price imposed on the restaurants and cafes investors at Rafic Hariri International Airport and to ensure that the goods prices and profits comply with the relevant rates stipulated in the Legislative Decree nº 73/83 in order to take the necessary legal procedures.
In favor of the tourism and Lebanon’s reputation among passengers, Ministry of Economy and Trade is committed to take the necessary legal procedures to control the prices applied throughout Rafic Hariri International Airport. For this reason, the Ministry recommends both citizens and consumers to submit their complaints in the event of any violation, without hesitation, by calling the Ministry hotline 1739 or through the smartphone application Consumer Protection Lebanon or by visiting the Ministry website: www.economy.gov.lb
