Statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Trade

On the occasion of the Lebanese Food Industries National Day, H.E. Dr Alain Hakim, Minister of Economy and Trade is pleased to announce the success of eight Lebanese food industries in the application of Food Safety Management System (FSMS) according to international standards and acquiring of the ISO 22000 and 22005 certifications; the eight certified industries are stated below:

1. Tayibat - Adloun
2. Aoun Food Company for grains and spices - Metn
3. Al Sharq Sweets - Nabatieh
4- HINTRAG - Zouk - Kesserwan
5. Rifai Roastery (ISO 22005) - Beirut
6. Maatouk Coffee – Bshamoun
7. ELSA – Beirut
8.      Delta food industry for spices and dried fruits - Zalka
 
Knowing that the eight mentioned factories are among thirty other agro food industries receiving technical advisory and training support for over a year from the Quality Programme-QUALEB hosted at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and funded by the European Union under the supervision of Europeans and Lebanese experts in the field of food safety. In addition to the twenty factories that have been certified for ISO 22000 through support by QUALEB project in its previous phase.
Based on its Belief of the importance in informing the public of the food industries’ names that implement food safety management system, the ministry will announce consecutively the companies that meet the complete food safety conditions according to the international standards based on their participation in the Quality program.
