Ministry of Economy & Trade released five seizure reports in Beirut and Mount Lebanon during the last twenty -four hours against violating institutions displaying prices in US dollars only or obliging the consumer to pay in dollars.

In this occasion, the Ministry reiterates the circular issued by Minister of Economy & Trade Mansour Bteish on May 24th, 2019 stating that all merchants shall display prices in lebanese pounds and shall strictly abide by the applicable legislations, pursuant to article five of the Consumer Protection Act n° 659/2005 stipulating that “the supplier shall conspicuously display the price in Lebanese pounds on the goods or on the shelves where such goods are displayed  and that whoever violates this provision shall be subject to necessary legal measures to refer him to competent courts.
