Explanatory statement in terms of the monthly subscription fee calculation for the subscribers in the Triphasé counters of the electricity generators
Ministry of Economy and Trade issued an explanatory statement in terms of the monthly subscription fee calculation for the subscribers in the Triphasé counters of the electricity generators after it was revealed that some of the generators’ owners had miscalculated the monthly subscription fee regarding the Triphasé counters “despite the clear calculation method determined by the Ministry of Energy & Water”.
To this end, the Ministry precised the right and only way to calculate the fee of the Triphasé counters as follows:

First: |
The overall amperage capacity for the Triphasé subscription shall be determined in order to apply it when calculating the monthly subscription fee. For example, for a 10 Amperes Triphasé subscription, the overall subscription capacity shall be as follows 3 x 10= 30 Amperes. |

Second: |
The monthly subscription fee is 30.000 LBP for the first 15 Amperes then 5000 LBP for each additional 5000 LBP. Consequently, the monthly Triphasé subscription fee with an overall capacity of 30 Amperes shall be 30.000 LBP for the first 15 Amperes + 15.000 Amperes for the remaining 15 Amperes, which is equal to 45.000 LBP. |

Third: |
The Triphasé counters are available in the lebanese markets; therefore, the generators’ owners are prohibited to install three counters (i.e one counter for each phase) |

Fourth: |
The generator’ owner shall have the right to collect a maximum amount of 50.000 LBP as per the invoices, considered the cost of the electrical installations of the counter as stipulated in the explanatory statement of the Minister of Economy & Trade issued on 10/10/2018. Therefore, it is prohibited for the generators’ owners to collect the amount of 150.000 LBP (50.000 x 3) when installing the Triphasé counter. |
The Ministry also asks “all the generators’ owners to fully abide by the above mentioned calculation method” under penalty of “taking deterrent legal actions against the offenders and bring them before the competent court”.
